Milling Barn Wedding Venue Photographer at Bluntswood Hall - Buntingford, Hertfordshire

I’ve photographed here as a recommended supplier for a number of years at the delightful Milling Barn venue, a family-run location in Buntingford.

We provide both photography & videography, as well as CAA approved drone coverage which allows us to capture the aerial footage against the rolling Hertfordshire countryside in the rural village of Throcking.

The venue is beautiful, and for the majority of our bookings we cover all day at milling barn until midnight, as often there are a couple of surprises planned which the couple are unaware of, so we stay to capture that would make their special day truly memorable.

The Bridal Preparations at the Dressing Room

In the morning, we arrive early to photograph and film the preparations at the “Dressing Room” at Bluntswood Hall, including details of the bride’s dress and bouquet, the bridesmaid, and all the other small details of the day.

Whilst the bridal preparations continue, we tend to grab photos and footage of the ceremony rooms. You are welcome to decorate them according to your stylistic preferences to have the wedding you have always envisaged. Sometime this can include fantastic balloon work (The Mr & Mrs) provided by Natalie at the Balloon Room. As of 2021, you can now also choose to hold your wedding ceremony in their rustic 17th century oak barn. And for a limited time in 2022, you could also have chosen to have exchanged your vows by having a woodland ceremony at this outdoor ceremony location. Whatever areas you choose to celebrate within, it is up to you. When you have a wedding at milling barn, you have exclusive venue hire of this perfect venue, and so you can choose how to have the barns dressed for your wedding, as there won’t be any other brides that you will bump into, unlike a celebration held at a hotel. And so now we return to capture more of the bridal preparations before preparing the drone and our cameras to capture the arrival of the groom.

The arrival of the Groom & Groomsmen

With the arrival of the Groom and his groomsmen, we grab shots with the cars/bus and close-ups of the rings.

We then return to the bridal party to capture the final preparations before the ceremony, along with the first look from the brother, mother, or father of the bride.

The Ceremony

When it’s time for the ceremony, we head into the dairy barn, the oak barn, or to the Woodlands. Once the registrars complete their final interviews, it’s time for the ceremony to begin.

After signing the register, we head outside for the confetti shot whilst we have everyone together.

Drinks Reception

It was then time for the drinks and photos. The guests had the opportunity to play some garden games whilst we took the couple around the grounds for their portraits.

Photography – Portraits & Group Photos

After a few more photos, we returned to the guests for some candid and group shots, shortly followed by the call for the guests to take their seats.

The Wedding Breakfast & Speeches

This absolutely stunning cake was made by the Pretty Gorgeous Cake Company (http://prettygorgeouscakecompany.co.uk/) and looked fab!
This beautiful venue has high ceilings and soft lighting, creating a truly rustic feel. Before the food was served, the bride’s brother provided scratchcards to each guest.
After the starters and main course, which was provided by their in-house caterers, the chopping block, they are a renowned catering team (I love the platter they offer), and their food never fails to disappoint. After the starters and main meal, there was a break for the speeches. Little did anyone know that this was all part of a plan to surprise everyone, which the team at milling barn and we were in on. Just as the speeches began, a waiter fell over, spilling cutlery all over the floor. We were on-hand to capture the reaction of the guests. Initial shock turned into laughter and surprise, as our ‘waiter’ from earlier was, in fact, part of a duo providing surprise musical entertainment (https://thesingingwaitermasters.co.uk/). We find that special surprises, such as singer waiters, mean that you and your guests will have an unforgettable celebration on your day at this beautiful barn wedding venue in Hertfordshire. Your guests will have plenty to talk about your big day after the event. Everyone thought it was fantastic and had a great time. We took a short break before the ‘real’ speeches.

The Evening Reception

There was also a surprise saxophonist and bongo player to continue into the evening celebrations. Though that was not the end of the surprises. Introducing DJ Luck & MC Neat!

We have also provided videography for this venue on many occasions.
