Wedding Photography FAQ
Who has copyright of the images?
Every photographer retains the copyright of their own images. However, my packages include a licence whereby you can print them as many times as you like and are free to use them for unlimited personal use.
How can I see the photographs?
You can view these on your password protected viewing gallery on this website. All the pictures will be available to view approximately fourteen days after the wedding, with a fully edited USB forwarded to yourselves a further seven days afterwards. The leadtime for albums can take around 3-4 weeks.
How many pictures will I get?
This depends on the size and duration of your wedding. To give you an idea from some of my recent weddings, registry office coverage from 30 minutes beforehand with 20 guests and 30 minutes afterwards for portrait and family shots resulted in 212 photos being delivered to the Bride & Groom. Full day weddings from 9am capturing bridal preparations all the way through to 9pm in the evening with 90 Guests can result in upwards of 600 photos being delivered. A rough rule of thumb (depending on number of guests) is around 50 photos an hour.
Do you photograph same sex couple weddings?
Yes – I do.
Can I tell you what groups we would like photographed?
Yes, and we will plan which groups these will be prior to the event in order to make the most of the time on the day.
Do you charge travel expenses?
Yes – but this will already be taken into account in my quote to yourselves.
What happens if it rains on our wedding day?
Don’t panic! I carry lots of umbrellas and I will still shoot as much as possible outside and in covered areas. If going outside is not a possibility, then I will take photographs indoors.
Do I need to feed you?
Yes please. I’d ask that you provide food and drink (non alcoholic) for me when you sit down for your meal. I will sit away from your guests’ dining area.
Why are your prices much cheaper than others?
I exhibit at a maximum of 2 wedding fayres each year. I also do not pay to advertise my services and I get my business purely from search engines, recommendations and through social media. As I have low advertising expenses, this enables me to provide such services at affordable rates to all.
Is it possible to order an album after the event?
Yes, of course. The price of the album is not affected so if you choose at a later date to have an album printed I would be more than happy to quote and supply you with the design of your choice.
What kind of equipment do you use?
I use two Nikon D750’s and always carry an additional two cameras as backups. I also only use Nikon lenses.
I’m not keen on having my photos shared online or used for advertising purposes. Is this a problem for you?
This is not a problem at all. Over the years I have photographed a number of weddings where a partner is in the police or in other public services. In these cases, no images or updates etc. are posted on social media or this site. Final images are edited and uploaded for proofing purposes into a hidden and protected site for the client only. Once approval of the images has been given and the USB and albums have been received by the client, all files can also be destroyed at your request. Though make sure you have some form of backup as I will not be able to recover the images at a later date.
Are you insured?
Yes I am, and the certificate will be forwarded to you upon booking as your venue will require a copy of it.
How do I book you?
Please complete the form on the ‘Contact’ page and I will confirm my availability and arrange a meeting with you. I will give you a booking form which you will need to complete and pay a non-refundable booking fee of £100 for photography, £200 with Videography or £250 with Cinematic & Drone Videography (card/cash/cheque/BACS) which will secure your day.
When do you require the final balance?
The remaining balance is due 30 days prior to your wedding date.
What if I need to cancel or re-arrange the wedding date?
As I have to turn away other potential customers for your wedding date, the booking fee is non-refundable. In the event of cancellation after the main balance has been paid, the balance cannot be refunded, unless I am able to source an alternative booking for the same date. If the date of your event needs to change and I am still available, there will be no extra charge.
