Wedding Planning During the Covid-19 Pandemic

I don’t know about you, but during this latest lockdown, I’m starting to get a bit stir crazy. Putting down my camera once again, I thought I’d create a new article for couples who are trying to plan a wedding during this uncertain time.

You may feel frustrated and restricted by what you can do, but there are several things you can check off your to-do list right now to stay inspired and on top of your planning.

MAKE A WEDDING INSPIRATION BOARD!

If you’re at the beginning stage of your wedding planning, get some scissors, magazines, and print some photos from your Pinterest board and use it to create yourself a mood board! It is a great way to help identify your preferred style and vision.

START BROWSING VENUES & ASK ABOUT VIRTUAL TOURS

Many wedding venues now offer online virtual tours. Narrow down your top five wedding venues, browse through the photos they have available on their website, and ask them for a tour! Don’t forget to look up the hashtag of your venue on Instagram to see pictures that other couples have posted too!

FIND YOUR FAVOURITE SUPPLIERS + BOOK ZOOM MEETINGS

As a wedding professional myself, I’m still meeting with couples on Zoom and booking weddings for 2021 and beyond. It’s a great way to have a warm conversation and book your vendors.

MAKE YOUR GUEST LIST + BUILD YOUR ADDRESS BOOK

Compiling a list of addresses for all of your guests isn’t the most exciting thing to do, but why not use this time to get in touch whilst we’re all stuck at home!

ROCK THE RECEPTION PLAYLIST

Start building a playlist of your favourite songs so that you have something to give your DJ! You can also try out a few first dance songs too.

CREATE YOUR WEDDING DAY TIMELINE

As you’ve probably never planned a wedding before, this can seem a bit daunting. But take it from me, it is the best feeling to have times drafted to assist with your planning. Think about the start time and duration for your hair & makeup, ceremony, family photos, wedding breakfast etc., so when your friends and family start asking, you can let them know.

WORK ON HANDMADE PROJECTS

Now is a great time to tackle those crafty projects you’ve been thinking about but may not have actually done. Have a look around Etsy for ideas. You may want to work on some personalised decorations for your tables or placenames.
