Getting Ready – Wedding At The Farmhouse
Last Saturday, I had the absolute pleasure of photographing the summer wedding of Alice and James, who were getting married at the Barns at Redcoats in Hitchin, which was refurbished in 2018. This is one of my favourite venues in the Hertfordshire countryside. We were in the middle of the intense heatwave with bright, blazing sunshine and high temperatures, so I had to carefully plan the group shots so as not to leave the guests standing around for too long without shade. I arrived at 10 am, and the bridal preparations in bedroom 5 were in full swing (My helpful hint to you, staying at this stunning location the night before means more time for your preparations and not feeling rushed!). In my article below, you can check out my selection of farmhouse at redcoats wedding photos which are part of my real wedding blog.

The groom was getting ready at the Cromwell Hotel in Stevenage, only a few minutes down the road from this stylish barn.

After a few photos, I dashed back to continue capturing the final finishes to the brides’ hair and make up. Once the bride was in her wedding dress, I left to take candid photos of the guest arrivals.

There is something so magical about Barn at Redcoats weddings. The rustic charm and style are the perfect backdrop for your special day. The room is filled with twinkling lights, and the grounds are beautifully landscaped, making it the perfect place to say “I do.” The staff are professional and accommodating, and go above and beyond to ensure your wedding day is perfect. I highly recommend the farmhouse at redcoats in Hitchin to any couple planning a wedding celebration and looking for a unique and beautiful location for a perfect wedding.

The Wedding Ceremony
It was time for the ceremony!

We headed outside for the confetti shot, followed by a group shot taken with the drone whilst we had everyone together.

The guests were called to the wedding breakfast, which started with speeches by the bride’s father, the groom, and then his best man.

The sun was starting to go down, so it was the perfect time for photography to whisk the couple around the grounds for their couple portraits.

A short while later, we returned to the Barn to cut the cake, followed by entertainment provided by Uptown Showdown, who were amazing and kept the dancefloor packed!
