A few weeks ago I photographed the wedding of Leah & Kate at North Hill Farm, Chorleywood. (www.northhillfarm.co.uk/)
I was very excited as this was my first same-sex wedding and having met up with Leah & Kate beforehand, I knew we were going to get on well (very important when your photographer is basically with you all day!) and we'd planned a few fun shots for later on in the evening.
The weather was forecast to be scorching! I arrived in good time and met up with the couple who were getting ready in separate rooms. I ensured that I moved regularly between rooms to get coverage of both bridal preparations.
It was then approaching the time for the ceremony. I left to get shots of the small details that the couple had added for their special day, reflecting the freedom of same-sex marriage and some special details to Leah that represented her home country of New Zealand.
The guests began to arrive and it was time for the ceremony.
As it was so hot & sunny, we decided to go straight to the group shots so that guests could change into their shorts :-)
England were also playing, so as one of a couple of surprises, there was a dedicated tent to watch the match!
Whilst the ice cream van refreshed the guests, we decided it would be a good time to go and capture the couple's portrait shots.
After the couple portraits, I grabbed some candid shots with guests, which was then followed by the speeches.
After the speeches, the cake was cut and the partying began!
The bonfire was then lit for toasting marshmallows - though the heat proved a bit too much for some ;-) - Followed by sparklers!
