The Wedding of Leah & Kate
A few weeks ago I photographed the same-sex wedding of Leah & Kate at North Hill Farm, Chorleywood. (www.northhillfarm.co.uk/)
I was very excited as this would be the first same-sex weddings that I’d photographed. I’d met up with Leah & Kate beforehand and I knew we were going to get on well. This is very important when your photographer is basically with you all day!
The weather was forecast to be scorching! I arrived in good time and met up with the couple who were getting ready in separate rooms. I ensured that I moved regularly between rooms to get coverage of both bridal preparations.
It was then approaching the time for the ceremony. I left to get shots of the small details that the couple had added for their special day, reflecting the freedom of same-sex marriage and some special details to Leah that represented her home country of New Zealand.
England was also playing, so as one of a couple of surprises, there was a dedicated tent to watch the match!
The bonfire was then lit for toasting marshmallows – though the heat proved a bit too much for some 😉 – Followed by sparklers!
