HOW MUCH WILL YOUR WEDDING DAY COST?

I decided to create a UK Wedding Budget Calculator to assist you with your budget planning.

All the data was collected from weddings in Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and Essex.

What is the average cost of a UK wedding in 2021?

The average wedding in the UK has now dropped to around £18,000, according to bridebook.co.uk. For the first time in many years, the cost of a wedding has decreased. I asked my couples their thoughts on this, and we agreed on several factors. There is now a wider variety of suppliers to choose from; therefore, the market has to price itself more competitively. Wedding couples that I’ve worked with have also decided to ditch the large 3 or 5 tier cakes for a selection of cupcakes. Weekday weddings are becoming increasingly popular and are another way that you can save money on your wedding venue. August remains the most popular month of the year to get married.

What are the unexpected wedding costs to keep an eye out for?

Cake cutting fees. (some venues will charge you to use their stand and knife)

Gifts for the Bridal party.

Thank you notes, letters and stamps.

Supplier meals. (Photographers and Videographers are typically with you for the entire wedding day, so they will need to be included in your meal numbers.)

Registrar and Church fees (These can wildly vary, from around £120 up to £800.)
